01 / Remembrance
A day of remembrance, respect and gratitude
On ANZAC Day, members of the DefenceTax team joined a community gathering to honour the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, Australia. We remembered those who did not return home and reflected on the courage and sacrifice of those who did.
It was a chance to step away from our daily work and spend time alongside veterans, serving personnel, their families and the wider community.
02 / The people behind service
Listening and remembering together
ANZAC Day is also an opportunity to acknowledge the people behind the service: veterans whose stories deserve to be heard, those serving today, and the families who have shared the demands of service.
We were grateful for the opportunity to listen and to reflect with people from the Defence community. Their experiences remind us why respect, care and understanding matter well beyond a single day.
03 / A shared act of remembrance
Service carried into the community
Along the ANZAC Day march, people wearing service medals walked together while the wider community gathered to watch. The procession was a reminder that remembrance belongs not only at memorials, but with the people who carry those histories forward.
Every experience of service is different. Taking time to listen, without assuming we know those experiences, is one way to honour the people who served and the families who remember alongside them.
04 / Beyond one day
A connection that continues
For more than 50 years, our broader practice has supported Australians through different stages of their working lives. Through DefenceTax, we have helped current and former Defence personnel navigate the tax questions that can arise during service and afterwards.
Being part of community occasions helps us listen, learn and better understand the people we support. We hope to keep building meaningful relationships with veterans, Defence families, RSLs and the organisations that stand with them throughout the year.
To those who have served
To all who have served, to those still serving, and to the families who stand beside them — thank you.
Lest We Forget.
